Same Mat, Slimmer Build: Meet the Travel Mats
There is a particular kind of sadness in leaving your mat at home. You get to the retreat, or the holiday house, or the hotel room with just enough floor space, and you find yourself unrolling something thin and borrowed that does not feel like yours at all.
That is really where our travel mats came from. We wanted something you could actually bring with you without giving up the mat you love.
So the artwork is the same. Every travel mat carries the same original Irish designs as the rest of the range, drawn from the landscapes and Celtic patterns of Connemara. Nothing has been simplified or shrunk down to make it easier to produce.
The material is the same too. Still natural rubber, same as our studio mats.
The only real difference is the build. Travel mats are thinner, and that thinness is the whole point. It means the mat folds rather than rolls, so instead of a long tube strapped to your shoulder, you get something flat that slots into a suitcase or the bottom of a bag. It weighs less on the way out and takes up far less room on the way home.
It is a lovely thing, opening a bag in a strange room and finding a bit of the west of Ireland folded up inside it.
Have a browse through the travel mats and see which design you would like to bring along.
